Why We Built The Hairy Bastards

30 July 2026 · 4 min read

Because every grooming aisle looked like it was designed by someone who'd never met a proper beard. Or a groin. Or consequences.

It started, as most terrible ideas do, in a bathroom mirror. Not the flattering kind. The honest kind. The kind that says: mate, your beard looks like it lost a fight with a hedge trimmer and your chest hair is staging a coup against your shirt.

We'd tried the fancy stuff. The French-looking bottles. The oils that smelled like a spa weekend and sat on top of your face like regret. The balms that promised 'comfort' and delivered a greasy handshake with your own thighs.

Somewhere between the third useless serum and the fifth ruined collar, a thought arrived fully formed and slightly unhinged: what if grooming for exceptionally hairy men didn't apologise for existing? What if it was actually good — and named like it had a sense of humour?

That thought became The Hairy Bastards. Not a lifestyle brand. Not a wellness cult. A small, stubborn outfit built around Australian emu oil and the belief that thick pelts deserve better than peach-fuzz marketing.

We built it because the aisle was full of polite lies. Soft-focus models with designer stubble. Copy that whispered 'hydrate' like it was a secret. Nobody was speaking to the gloriously overgrown. So we did. Loudly. With droppers. And slightly illegal product names.

If you've ever patted your face dry and thought 'there has to be something better than this scented disappointment,' congratulations. You're why we exist. Join the queue. The gang's assembling.
